lol.gif

I wouldn’t say to smoke it but if I, unwillingly of course, let it fall into the fire place....... accidents happen... face.gif

Although I could very well live without another thing to take my attention from others more important I must say it is lovely and makes me want to take care of it... Grrrr... turnipsmack.gif

Now I have something to put on my testament... these things live for ages!!!!

I googled “Hickory Farms”… user posted image...you must be thrilled... user posted image

hugs.gif How are you!!!!??

About Chay Ophan....

We exchanged some emails yes, utterly disturbing as you can easily guess, while he was still posting at glp. Then he disappeared but I stayed in contact with a close friend, who also posted at glp, for months. We were both very concerned because we didn’t know nothing about him. He also disappeared some time later.

About May this year he showed up, the close friend, and told me Chai had been killed. I also stopped to speak to that close friend and don’t know anything else. Two days ago when I was perusing (!) glp members to post my goodbye list I saw Chai Ophan again registered in August or so with no posts. I don’t know what to think...

But if you say he is still alive that is great news!!!! Are you sure?...

Have a great year and stop by any time.... hugs.gif

If your bonsai is feeling bad,
like Hoss said,
give it love,
give it water,
give it proper sunshine,
give it REIKI !

I bought a huge 35 year old Jade Tree at an estate sale a few months ago,
man , I could hardly get it inside the door for the winter ,
it got so big outside here this summer and fall.

An absolutely lovely tree !
Over three and one half feet high and 3 feet wide.

I see, Wio...

Vianova, I’ve three very healthy Jade Trees (not trained as Bonsais) in my garden that are now flowering. They are smaller than yours but are on their way... I love Jade Trees!

About the Bonsai... I’m worried because I need to prune it.... and I hate to cut plants... That’s my main problem about it...

Now.... There are Bonsais absolutely gorgeous!!!... Just look at these...

Amazing indeed.
Wow!
From 1626...

There are 1000 year old giant cedars in the absolute heart of the Ross lakle-Mt Baker wilderness, but that little Bonsai is every bit as noble.

Thanks for sharing that !

The "artistic Japanese" indeed.

I have handled and sold many fabulous Japanese antiques.
Of quick memory,
A fantastically carved Meiji period ivory Kuan Yin that sold 4500
Fabulous edo period shogun silver saki cups,
Incredible bronze vases with silvered bronze cranes in full relief attached to the sides,
And the grandest ,
carved from a giant solid stump of Keyaki wood ,
seated Edo period signed Fuki
with the giant conehead,
that I still own.
wish i knew how to deposiot pictures here...
This Fuki is the height of Japanese folk art.
I think the actual name is Fukurozoa...not sure right now .

The bonsai would be beautiful next to any of these examples.

Hi Thessa,

Technically, you don't have to cut it. Just let it grow natural and since you live in such a nice climate, let it be outside in the warm months. It should be quite happy then. smileNew4.gif

Wahya, you're so hilarious.
