QUOTE
Sir Edmund Hillary

The 88-year-old's state funeral will be broadcast live internationally from Auckland's Holy Trinity Cathedral in Parnell. Coverage of the farewell from 6am Tuesday.

Sir Ed will lie in state on Monday.

And the Dean of Auckland admits he is feeling some pressure over holding the service.

He says it would be great if people could go away from the funeral feeling inspired.

Bay says the public are welcome to visit Sir Ed's casket as he lies in state at the Cathedral from Monday.

Bay says he has worked hard to ensure the wishes of both the public and Sir Ed's family are respected. He says the family has been extremely gracious and understanding, knowing that the man they loved was also revered by many others.

Bay says people are continuing to leave loving messages for Sir Ed's family in the Cathedral's condolence book.

Im not dissing the Man.
He is a WONDERFUL role model for everyone all over the world.
He struck me as a humble Man, that did a great deal for the people of Nepal. His compassion and love shone through. He loved that country.

scratchinghead.gif But I still feel he might not have made it to the top of Everest 1st.
Sorry sweating.gif my opinion sweating.gif can be up for debate blushNEW.gif

He will be missed dearly here in New Zealand and Nepal.
His image will always be talked about as he has his face on our five dollar note.

Good Bye Sir Ed.
Happy Tramping xxxxxxxxx
