From my good friend, aceace.

QUOTE
A friend of mine is building hydrogen fuel cells that connect to the intake system by vacuum hose just behind or after the air cleaner (usually a pvc type plastic tube runs between your air cleaner box and intake system) These are very simple devices that require baking soda and distilled water about $5 worth of the stuff every 3000 miles. Mileage increases are 20 to 40%.

Here is a website that shows how this works.

http://www.squidoo.com/doubleyourgas

The baking soda helps the distilled water turn into what is called "browns gas" a vapor, the gas is created by electrolysis. A simple hookup to your engines electrical system that comes on only when the ignition is on.

You can build this yourself for $20. You need to refill the water and baking soda about every 600-900 miles (1 quart water a few tablespoons of soda).

Here is a great video with detail....

This works, guaranteed. Most 4cyl and v6's benefit about +10 mpg.

Even modest changing in our driving habits can also result in good gas savings. Starting off slow (keep tach at 2,000 rpm or less), coasting when possible, and other techniques can be found here:

Hi, Mark, I remember that you did that. I'd rather not have to have one either, but at the moment it's still a necessity. I'm only 12 miles from work, though, so I could walk if I had to. Would have to get up around 3 am. luvcoffee.gif

P.S. I met a guy at Big 5 Sporting Goods who said he had this pill called "?More? MPG" or something and he claimed it would increase gas mileage by 18% ---- I'm like --- why not use compressed air, or sea water or clean made hydrogen?

(remember, most hydrogen is created by burning coal - and also remember my theory --the aliens are changing the air of Earth and we all contribute by burning fossil fuels)

USE CLEAN ENERGY and FOOK the ALIENS
