My son finally remembered to download the additional photos from my trip to Germany and Egypt at Anarchaeology.com. Here is one of the stone wheel I found eroding from the side of a ravine in the mountains near Heidleberg, Germany. I don't think it is related to the Roman column quarried, dressed and left in place nearby. It was identical to the ones I found in Oklahoma and Texas. Here is one of the photos:

The newest sets of photos may not be easy to find but if you click on the "David's Trip to Egypt 2008" link at anarchaeology.com and then click on the "all sets" by oldnick at the top it will take you here:
More photos from Germany & Egypt

The other Roman artifacts are on this same page along with mountain top views of Heidleberg and the Rhine. The Roman site is several miles from Heidleberg in a remote park in the mountains.

What sort of wheel? For transportation or for milling?

I have no idea, Wahya, it was only partially eroded from the side of ravine as you can see from the photos. As I mentioned, it did not appear to be consistent with the other Roman stoneworks nearby and I would not go so far as to speculate that it even had a practical function. From its similarity to the stone wheels of Oklahoma and Texas, it may have been millions of years older than the Roman stuff. Geologists would probably blow it off as a natural concretion.
